Still Here Still Life is a weekly drawing challenge encouraging artists to showcase their interpretations of a shared photograph. Tess Smith-Roberts and Zena Kay, the illustrator duo who started it all, create these photos by collaborating with a diverse range of contributors, including photographers, artists, florists, cooks, and brands from across the globe.
In my renditions of the various prompts, I explored different mediums to evoke satiating emotions experienced through food—the gelatinousness of jell-O, the coziness of mushrooms, the decadence of freshly baked focaccia, and the scrumptiousness of freshly scooped sundae. I used a mixture of analogue and digital tools to bring these emotions to life.
